To add some extra intra club competition, Sutton United Tennis club are looking at introducing a new inter league competition
in both men's and women's singles. Players who join the leagues will play a set amount of matches within a specified division
over a specified period of time, determined by the amount of interest we receive. The competition will be designed to offer
players complete flexibility as there will be no set times or dates to play the matches and matches will be organised by
players amongst themselves.
Junior Tennis Club Night restarts on Wednesday 18th April. Time for 5yrs - 9yrs is 5pm and 6pm, and for 10yrs - 16yrs is 6pm - 7pm.
Adult Club Night will continue at the new time of 7pm till late.
Congratulations to Richard Higginson and Yvonne Scrivener who won the club's latest Adult Doubles Tournament on a bright and sunny March

Do you want to get fit? Do you enjoy being outside rather than in the gym? Do you want to enjoy a fun environment?
If the answer is yes, then Penns Tennis Club and Sutton United Tennis Club have a fun NEW session for you and your friends.
This new session is ideal for all levels of adult players as the balls are fed to you by a coach, so there is
no need to be able to play the game. With our expert advice and the confidence of hitting thousands of balls we
hope that some people may want to take their tennis further. However the main objective is to create a fun, high beat,
healthy environment!
There are daytime, evening and weekend sessions to choose from.
Fully qualified RPT tennis coach Dan Humpherson is now offering group or individual coaching lessons and hitting sessions for junior and adult players. Full details (including how to contact Dan) are available HERE.
For the new season, we have decided to produce a Tennis Tournament Ladder in which juniors will gain points as
shown below.
The Ladder will start immediately and will run until July. Information will be updated every month and will be on
display in the clubhouse.
There will be an award for those in the top 3 positions of each tennis colour category (red, orange, green and yellow)
at the end of the season.
Points will be awarded as follows:
Through the introduction of the new Tennis Tournament Ladder, juniors should feel freshly motivated to
play more matches and challenge themselves to win using good techniques in the correct manner.
